Asaf Kerem, DVM
Owner / Veterinarian
Dr. Kerem was born in Chicago, Illinois to parents who worked for the Foreign Service. Accordingly, he had an international upbringing and had travelled regularly by the time he was a young adult. His father, who had a passionate love of nature, instilled similar passions in his son at a young age, and this, among other things, developed into his love for animals.
Dr. Kerem graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science degree and, subsequently, from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. He completed his veterinary clinical training at Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine and received his veterinary degree in 2007 together with his wife, Dr. Rachel Goldfarb. After several years of living and practicing in New York State, Drs. Kerem and Goldfarb moved to California to be closer to the natural beauty of the state.
Dr. Kerem’s clinical experience and interests are in preventative care, internal medicine, and emergency medicine.
When not practicing or managing, Dr. Kerem enjoys walking, kayaking, playing video games, listening to music, reading and learning, and good food and drink. He lives with his wife, Rachel, and their bratty (but incredibly sweet) child, Fiona the Miniature Schnauzer.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Missouri-Columbia and completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Christopher. Following her internship, she continued working in New York before spending some time in southwest Florida and subsequently moving to California. Dr. Goldfarb’s professional interests include pain management, anesthesiology, trauma medicine, diseases of the urinary tract, and fear free medicine. Her motivation stems from her dedication to being a strong patient advocate, a quality that she will not compromise on.
In addition to her passion for helping dogs and cats Dr. Goldfarb possesses a vast interest in wildlife and exotic pet medicine. She has practiced conservation and wildlife medicine in Madagascar, Thailand, South Africa, St. Kitts, and Australia. She has volunteered on multiple projects working with a variety of wild species including sea turtles, tortoises, seals, whales, snakes, pelicans, kangaroos, elephants, and lemurs amongst many others.
After having lived in St. Kitts and throughout the United States, Dr. Goldfarb most loves living and exploring in Northern California, and she has found her favorite home in Pacifica. She and Asaf share their home with their sweet and funny dog, Fiona, who is definitely a “daddy’s girl.” When not at work, Dr. Goldfarb takes pleasure in hiking, traveling, watching movies, going to reggae concerts, and discussing and drinking amazing craft beer.
